# Fix sign-in problems

> What to do when sign-in fails, staff ban you, or a player's profile isn't available.

Find the message you see when signing in or opening a player's profile, then follow its section.

| What you see | Section |
| :- | :- |
| **No access**: "Sign-in could not be completed." | [Sign in again](#sign-in-again) |
| "Your account is banned" | [Return after a ban](#return-after-a-ban) |
| "Discord sign-in is temporarily unavailable." or "The service is temporarily unavailable." | [Try again later](#try-again-later) |
| "This profile isn't available." | [Open a player's profile](#open-a-players-profile) |

## Sign in again

You see **No access** with "Sign-in could not be completed. A newer sign-in may have started. Please sign in again."

Only the newest sign-in counts, so this happens if you selected sign in twice, or in two tabs. Close the other tabs and sign in once more.

## Return after a ban

If staff have banned you, signing in fails and a page reads "Your account is banned", with the reason staff gave and when the ban ends, or that it's permanent.

When a ban starts:

* You're signed out and can't sign in until the ban ends.
* You're removed from your team. If you were its captain, captaincy passes to the player who joined earliest. If you were the last player, the ban disbands the team.
* Your player profile shows "This profile isn't available." to everyone.

You can still read the Player Hub's schedule, teams and rules without signing in.

A ban ends at the time shown, or earlier if staff lift it. Then you can sign in again. To get back on a team, you need its invite code, and you agree to the **Terms of Participation** again.

If you think a ban is a mistake, contact The Black Vale's staff on [Discord](https://discord.gg/5Q2P9TaC4E).

## Try again later

"Discord sign-in is temporarily unavailable. Please try again." means Discord didn't answer. "The service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again." means the Tournament System couldn't complete the request. Wait a minute, then try again.

## Open a player's profile

A profile page reads "This profile isn't available." when:

* **The player hasn't signed in yet.** A profile exists from the player's first sign-in to the Player Hub.
* **The player is banned.** The profile comes back when the ban ends.
* **The link is wrong.** Open the profile from the Player Hub's Teams page, or ask the player to copy their link with **Copy profile link**.

Select **Return to Player Hub** to go back.
