# Set up the Game Intro

> Choose the map, killer and four survivors for the next game, and show them on the Game Intro scene.

The Game Intro scene introduces each game: the map, the killer player and character, and the four survivor players and characters. Set it from the scene's controls on **Browser Sources** or from **Controls** in Live. It's built for Dead by Daylight.

A scorecard is one match while staff score it in Live, from **Create Scorecard** to **Finish Scorecard**. The Game Intro reads its teams, sides, set and game from the open scorecard, and offers only players from those two teams.

## Before you start

* You need access to change the scenes. See [How access works](/get-started/access).
* Start the scorecard in Live. Until a scorecard is open in the stream chosen on Live, the Game Intro fields stay greyed out. See [Score a match in Live](/broadcast/score-a-match).
* Check the sides in Live. Killer players come from the team playing killer in the current game, and survivors from the other team.

## Choose the lineup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Game Intro controls">
    In the sidebar, select **Broadcast** → **Browser Sources**, then the **Game Intro** tab, then **Controls**.

    In Live, select **Controls** beside the stream list instead, and use the arrows beside the scene name to reach **Game Intro**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the map">
    Under **Location**, choose the **Map**. **Realm** fills in by itself.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the killer">
    Under **Killer**, choose the **Killer player** and their **Killer character**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the survivors">
    Under **Survivor 1** to **Survivor 4**, choose each player and character. A player chosen in one slot isn't offered in the others. To leave a slot empty, leave it on the **Player** and **Character** placeholders.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Select **Save**. "Saved." confirms it, and the scene shows the lineup within a few seconds.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The scene also shows the current set and game, and the map's artwork when the Tournament System has artwork for it. The In-Game scene shows the killer player's name under its clock.

## Update it for the next game

The lineup stays as saved until you change or clear it. Moving to the next game, swapping sides or changing the set in Live doesn't change it or lose unsaved changes.

Teams swap sides each game, so update the lineup before every game. A saved player who's no longer on the right team for their slot shows as "(unavailable; select again or clear)". Choose someone else, or **Player** to empty the slot, and select **Save**.

To empty every field, select **Clear details**, then **Save**. **Clear details** only empties the form. The scene keeps the old lineup until you save.

<Note>
  If someone moves to another game in Live while you're editing, **Save** fails with "The game changed. Review the current game before saving." Your choices stay in the form. Check them against the new game and select **Save** again.
</Note>
