# Run a stream

> The order of work for a stream, from the countdown to the sign-off, with the page for each step.

What to set up before a stream, what to do during each match, and how to close. You work in the staff console and OBS at the same time.

* **Stream**: one broadcast night and its matches. Staff set up streams on Schedule, and Live works in one stream at a time.
* **Scorecard**: one match while you score it, from **Create Scorecard** to **Finish Scorecard**. Only one can be open at a time.

Switch scenes in OBS yourself. The staff console only sets what each scene shows, on **Browser Sources** or in **Live** under **Controls**. See [Broadcast scenes](/broadcast/scenes).

## Before you start

* Add the stream on Schedule with its matches, each with both teams set. See [Plan the schedule](/season/schedule).
* Set up OBS on the broadcast PC, including its audio and game capture. See [Set up OBS](/broadcast/set-up-obs).
* Ask each caster to set up their caster profile for Caster Chat. See [Set up your caster profile](/broadcast/caster-profile).
* You need access to operate Live and to change the scenes. See [How access works](/get-started/access).

## Open the stream

After the last match, switch OBS to End Stream, which shows "Thanks for watching", then stop streaming.
